The Ruthless Side of Online Dating

The Ruthless Side of Online Dating

Things that went through my mind this morning as I was going into my inbox on eHarmony.

While Looking At A Picture “ Ohhhhhhh, No”

While Looking at a Location (of where someone lives) “where the hell is that?….oh well he’s kind of cute, I’ll give it a shot and answer his questions anyway”

While Reviewing a Profile: “If you are Christian, why do you want to hang with me who is listed as spiritual?”

While looking at another picture “Hell, no”

While looking at a profile “If you don’t want kids, why would you want to get to know someone who clearly states they do?”

When Looking At Another Picture “There is no way you work out that much and still look like that.”

When Looking At A Profile: “Either want kids your you don’t – what is this maybe business”

OK now that I have been vicious and ruthless in my matches, and let’s face it, maybe a tad shallow, I’m done for the day.

When dating online, what’s your method for narrowing down the field?

Agree on all accounts. I was looking at pictures and clicking no, left and right. Then I thought I was being shallow. Then I realized, its my life and if I think you are unattractive and your picture is a turn off, then HELL FUCKING NO! LOL. And like I said, agree on everything else you said too.

It sounds like you know what you want! Nothing wrong with that; your confidence will make you appealing to the right matches. A lot of our couples talk about how they originally misunderstood things the other had in their profile or settings, though. So if you like the picture and you think there

Hi Jack, Before opening their profile, my intuition generally tells me what I need to know. I then look to see what it was my intuition was picking up on. But it does still at times feel very shallows and ruthless. Although so far, I have met some nice guys this way. And I have left some guys open I would have generally dissed, simply because my intuition thought better of it. And while they were not “it” I have had some great dates, or learned something interesting when in conversation from that approach as well. Thanks for finding the blog and commenting – appreciate it.
