A New Toy

A New Toy

So I bought a new toy. A completely new type of toy – which meant I had nothing to compare it to when shopping for it (like bigger or smaller than my last toy). The challenge when buying a new toy is that it is an unknown. You can’t test drive a toy. The best you can do is feel it in your hand.  And let’s face it our hands aren’t really anything like our girlie parts.

And, if we get a great sales person, we ask them what they think.  And they will tell us what they like, what works for them. Which may or may not work – since every woman is different and we all have our individual pleasure points.

Or maybe we ask a friend what they think (if they are with us) or what they like in hopes maybe we will too.  And all in all we then just guess.  We hope that it will work and sometimes we are right, and sometimes we are wrong.

And then, I don’t know about you – but I am also a little intrepid when I first play with a new toy. It’s almost like being with a new partner.  It feels foreign.

Sometimes this is made easier by asking my partner to help me play with it.  But most of the time the reason I have a new toy is because – hello – I don’t have a partner!  So then it’s just me – taking it slow, getting to know the toy and seeing what I think.

Wishing there was an easier way to guarantee success with this process.  Anyone know of any?

Ahhhh yes the wonderful world of toys. It’s amazing how many of my guy friends are so turned off on the idea of the girl having toys. Apparently it “toys” with their manhood. I, for one, have always welcomed toys into the bedroom. It makes for an interesting time and for the most part takes a lot of pressure off of the guy.

Chad – thank you for chiming in with a male perspective! Brave of you, and very refreshing. : )

Well now I do what I can. Personally, all my guy friends are scared of toys. I guess on some levels it “toys” with their manhood. As in, they aren’t good enough to do the job.
Myself, well I just think it’s an added bonus and helps me in the long run. If a toy is involved then I can concentrate on the girl more and let the toy assist me in finishing the job at hand. 😛
  2. It’s certainly difficult to choosing a toy! I agree, our hands can only guess what our lady parts will like. I sell toys through home parties and to be honest, I’m still discovering which type of toys I like. The only way to find out is to take a risk and buy something new. My suggestion is to not spend a whole lot of money and try a type of toy you’ve never tried before. You may discover that you like it or you may find that it’s not for you. At least you didn’t spend much money on it! If you have a toy that you LOVE, take notes and try to find another one that is similar. Is it internal, clitoral, a rabbit style vibe? Do you like silicone, jelly, plastic, or glass material? This is usually a good place to start. Good luck and if you ever need sex toy advice, feel free to email me simplepleasuresdc@gmail.com

Thank you for your insight. I think women with a passion such as yours really help other women find what they like, and also simply help others feel comfortable asking and talking about what they like.
      • Thanks Michelle for your compliment! I hope women feel comfortable talking to me about sex toys. My goal is to really help them find a product they like, rather than to sell them the biggest, most expensive toy out there. It’s not about that, you know?
  3. I suppose there is something to be said for having a favorite, a good ol’ stand-by that rocks your world predictably every time. But why not a repertoire of toys? Why not a stable of possibilities that keeps you flexible and open and nimble? I’d highly recommend the Crystal Wand, vibration-free but oh-so effective in massaging the g-spot and allowing your bpdy’s expressions. I see there are two variations–I’ve used the thicker one,but they are probably both fine.

I agree – my toy drawer is full of toys I’ve collected over the past few years. And my preference as to which is the old standby has at times changed. The toy that prompted this post was a completely different type of toy, new on the market, so not much to compare it to. Thanks for the toy suggestion. Apparently you can get that on Amazon in a couple of different varieties – wow times have really changed.
  4. I also meant to mention that if you or anyone you know is interested in hosting a book party or a real party (if you’re in the DC Metro area), you can earn free toys. Just thought I’d put that out there. There’s more info about it on our website http://www.fantasiahomeparties.com/party.php

I like to read reviews of a toy before I buy it. http://toywithme.com/ & http://www.citygirlblogs.com are great & both feature lots of helpful & informative reviews!

Thanks – that’s a great idea. I’ve been asked to provide toy reviews as well. : ) It’s something that will be coming here shortly as well.
