Too Much Of A Good Thing?

Too Much Of A Good Thing?

So I’m out at the bar dancing with this boy.  He has great moves, but I can tell he is definitely a boy. He asks me out and I agree because I think he’s kind of cute, very nice and he thinks I’m massively hot and tells me so. (Flattery will get you somewhere.) We talk on the phone for a while and finally set up a date.  All week prior to the date I am telling everyone that I have a date with a 22 year old, and that I totally rock.

So we go out, and guess what? We have absolutely NOTHING to talk about.  Cause, oh let me see, he just graduated from college.  Duh!

Note to self, maybe 22 is too young?   How do men do it?  Oh, right, they don’t care so much about the conversation.

I for one do care about the conversation. 🙂 Perhaps that’s because I’m about to hit 35 here in a month. Intelligence is a huge turn on for me. Being able to hold a conversation is also a huge turn on for me.
I’ve tried to date younger (well not a 22 year old), but it just doesn’t work for me. Now obviously it works for some men, but perhaps those men are just trying to get a “notch” in the headboard rather than actually developing a real relationship.
At this point I just may have met my match. I guess you could say we are in the “honeymoon” phase, but she will be 34 next week and we have a lot to talk about.
I have figured out that the “cougars” just want to sleep with me and the young ones well I can’t quite figure them out. So, I will stick with someone relatively close to my age.

Well that one didn’t last that long…..LOL Stay tuned for my new post tonight. Apparently me doing the things she wanted and liked was too much for her. So back to the wonderful world of dating websites I go……

Well, now you know. Great post. However, it tends to be the same the other way round – 30+ guys usually have little in common with 20 year old girls (apart from the obvious) and that’s the point, isn’t it? 30+ of either sex DOES usually care about the conversation – after the initial rush joint lust, at least. But then, hey – whatever works for people is absolutely fine, I say…

Good to know it’s not just women who have trouble connecting deeply with early 20 somethings. : ) Thanks for reading and replying. Appreciate it!.
  4. I have found the early 20 somethings to be good for one thing and it’s not conversation. It’s hard to be excited about them getting their first real job after college or their first apartment without a roommate. Umm.. go you! But sometimes, being good for one thing is good enough…you know?!?
