Toy Review -The Rocks Off RO-80mm Bullet Vibrator, The Best Little Vibrator Out There (IMHO)

Width: 1/2 inch

Useable Length: 3 inches

Length According to Manufacturer: 4 inches

Specialty: Clitoral Stimulation

Contender For the Who Needs A Man? Vibrator of the Year: Yes

If anyone is looking for a great, extremely well priced, vibrator for clitoral stimulation, look no further than the Rocks Off (aka Rock Chick) RO-80mm Vibrator.  I have actually given this vibrator as a gift to female friends when they mention they can’t find the right toy.  My friends they have reported back that they too love this little bullet vibrator. All for around $11 ($24 for one with a design that also has 7 speeds instead of just the 1).

Here’s the thing about little bullet vibrators. Most of them are not strong enough to really make a difference and can leave a woman frustrated.  Another thing to understand is that the softer a toy is, the more vibration it absorbs.  So if you are looking for something with strong vibration, you have to go with something hard, not soft on the outside. (I prefer the pink bullet one, because it feels a little warmer. However, the metallic one isn’t really metal, it’s made out of the same plastic, but with a coating to make it more like a bullet.)

Because the RO-80’s small and hard nature, I don’t feel that this toy is good for anything other than clitoral stimulation.  But since that is how most women orgasm, that’s OK. (If you are stimulated internally, I highly recommend the Lelo Gigi 2 as I reviewed earlier here.)  And RO-80mm is waterproof, so you can take it in the shower if you like.

The RO-80 mm comes with an N battery (which are kind of short AA batteries and pretty easy to find – and if anyone asks, you need it for your um… garage door opener.)  But if you are worried about replacing it as some point, just order an extra battery when you buy the toy, next time you are on Amazon.

There are two other version of this vibrator – the 7 speed RO-80 and the rechargeable 7 speed.  Personally, I would recommend just getting the 1 speed. But that’s personal preference. I tend to just need the one speed, and find vibrations that are not consistent distracting. But if you prefer variations to your vibration, then get the 7 speed. There is also a larger version of this toy called the RO-160mm.  It costs more, but it also has 10 vibrational settings, bigger (but not as big as a traditional dildo) and even more power.

My only other tip on this toy, is to not leave it running unattended. I had to buy a second one after a few years, because it stopped working. (I must sheepishly admit that was a time in my single life when it got above-average use.) The store told me that leaving it running for a long period of time will eventually burn the motor out. But otherwise, this is a great little toy that lasts a lot longer than the cheaper bullets.  I have had my current one for 3 years, and it’s still going strong.

Also – for any battery operated toy, the battery will stay stronger if you slightly loosen the top when not in use. This makes the battery not touch the connector, thereby increasing the lifespan of your battery.

The reason I say the original RO-80mm (single speed) is definitely a recipient of the Who Needs A Man Award is because for self-play, clitoral stimulation this should work every time. Not that it can’t work for partner play too. Any man can pick this toy up and use it to tease his girl as well. Or maybe just give himself a little break now and then. Either way – single or coupled, this is great toy for any woman who gets off through clitoral stimulation.
