An Awesome Date:
From The Dating Archives…
I started dating a friend of mine. Someone I have known for years. But who recently life threw us together in a different way, which created a great friendship that then created this amazing relationship.
But because we hadn’t done this the traditional route way, I felt like we hadn’t actually dated. You know – the pick me up at 8 for dinner and a movie routine. We went from hanging out all the time to hanging out all the time + awesome make-out sessions. There was no courting involved. Although I know! I really shouldn’t complain about hours of conversation followed by hours of making out. But I was! Fickle creature that I am – I always want More!
So my guy listened to me and he did the sweetest thing. He actually took me on 3 dates in one night. Of course – he picked 3 dates because I had said something about not giving it up until at least date 3! Smart ass…
So the first date he took me on was coffee. Mainly because he was trying to show me that coffee is not a date, regardless of what all the other men who do online dating might think. Then he literally, took me back home, brought me to my door and asked if he could take me out again to dinner, I said yes – and then we immediately got back in the car and went to dinner.
Then after dinner he again walked me to my door, asked if he could see me again and then immediately took me to a place for desert. He was going to go to our favorite ice cream place – a place he and I met up at when we weren’t dating and were so far in denial of that fact that we liked each other it was funny. But it was closed by that time – so we ended up at Starbucks (again) only this time for desert. It was fun.
And probably one of the best dates I’ve ever had.
And yes, dude got lucky after that. But not because of the 3 dates. Because he listened to what I needed and gave it to me. With a sense of humor and stamp all his own.
Editor’s Note: This one, turned out to be the last 1st date I’ll ever have. So you never know….. : )
